Bithiri Sathi Sankranthi Song | Dr. Kandi Konda
The festival Makara Sankranthi is a solar event making it one of the few Hindu festivals which fall on the same date in local calendars every year: 14 January, with some exceptions when the festival is celebrated on 15 January. Makar Sankranti is believed to be a time for peace and prosperity.
Makar Sankranti is one of the few ancient Hindu festivals that are observed according to solar cycles, unlike other festivals that are set by the lunar cycles of the lunisolar Hindu calendar. The festival is dedicated to the Sun God or Surya Devta
